30th-Nov-2007 02:08 pm - Rain
Psycho kitty
It's beautiful outside. All rainy and gray and almost cold and rainy and all. :)

When I opened the door to the balcony, Megan ran outside and yelled "Water! LOO-OOK! Water, Mommy! Sky! waaaater!"

She was sooo excited and happy about it, and adorable in her insistence that it wasn't "rain", it was "water". :)

So I grabbed her from the balcony, put warmer pants, shoes, a long-sleeved shirt, and her Elmo jacket on her, and set her back outside. She continued for a good half hour to be generally amazed by the rain, pointing and saying "Ooooooh! Mommy! Water! Look, mommy, this is water!"

I tried getting her to say "Rain", but she told me "NO! Water! Water water water!! Looook!"

She's *so* almost two. :)

WOOT!!!!!

He's coming home today!!!!!!

*bounces and does a big ol' dance of joy*

He hasn't been released yet, but they say that it'll be today around... um... soon. Around now, I would think.

Now, to avoid him catching my sniffly sneezy headachy crud... off to take orange flavored cold meds!

Woot for teh orange. And more woot than that for Dave being home soon.

After meds: chores.

Hopefully Megan will continue to sleep through this, even though she does like to wake up when I start chores...

(edit: oh yeah, he was in the hospital, for those wondering read my comments)
10th-Nov-2007 08:47 am - A dose of teh cuteness wakes the Mommy up
Psycho kitty
While waiting for my headache to clear up enough to get up this morning, I heard "Mommy! Diaper! Off! Gone! Pants!" through the baby monitor.

I ran into Megan's room, and discovered that she had taken off her pants and was holding her diaper. "Mommyyyyy! Diaper! Off!" she said triumphantly.

I didn't see her pants immediately. "Where's your pants?" I asked, to which she replied "All gone!"

I got her dressed and in the livingroom just in time to see a commercial for Atlantis SquarePantis in which they advertised a SpongeBob marathon before the movie premiere. Oh joy. She was jumping around saying "Spumbob! Sponbob!" while the commercial was on. I guess we've now got a lot of stuff to record onto our DVR. Or else I can call in on Monday and watch a ton of TV with her. Nah, we actually watch less when it's on the DVR. Just gotta remember to record Dora, Backyardigans, and SpongeBob, and we're set for ze baby.

She's not acting too sick anymore. Not as sick as yesterday, but she's still a bit stuffy and her throat's a bit sore. I got us all some meds yesterday, since we've all got the same stuffy runny nose sore throat thing. Except Nathan doesn't have it, and Dave hasn't been exposed to it yet. I hope he comes home today.

Megan knows how to open pretty much every door in my apartment. Thusly, she knows how to go outside when the door's not locked.

The most she's travelled outside without supervision is across the hall, to knock on our neighbor's door. :)

She's climbing down steps now, too. If I hold her hand, it's a much smoother trip. :) I always said that I was looking forward to the time when we could just lead her to where we need to be and she wouldn't break free and run elsewhere, and that time is pretty much now.

I thought a picnic would be a great way to use Dave's, Rachel's, and my day off yesterday, and it turned out to be pretty cool. So Megan got to ride the train at McCormick Park! She also rode the carousel, but when given the choice between the choo-choo and the horsies, she wanted "Choo choo!". To use all the tickets we had left, she got to ride both again. :)

She's recently learned to say "Honk honk!" to get everyone's attention. She loves talking on the phone, and when I'm talking to her, it seems like she uses every word in her vocabulary. It's cool to hear her learn new words like "phone" and "I want" and "Mommy, all done!", all of which she says very clearly. :) The first sentence I heard her say was "Auntie, I'm done!" and then she handed my sister her cereal bowl... that was a few months ago, though. :D

I can't believe she's 21 months old already! And I can't believe some of the stuff she's already figured out, like unlocking doors and turning on the TV, and opening the dish washer! (That means it's time to put the kid-proof fence in the doorway of the kitchen) :D

Aaaand now that she's bored with sitting here playing with SpongeBob and Patrick, she's gone to the livingroom to find a remote to play with. Nope, she's back and she wants a crayon, but she noticed that I put it on the other side of the computer monitor, to avoid having to give it to her. The little lady notices everything!

OK, I'm gonna go chase the toddler now, because she's giving me money and I want to figure out where it's coming from. She's so cute! "Here you want." *gives a penny to Mommy" "Thank you!"

That is your random bit of amusement for today. Also, look forward to a poll for randomness sakes.

25th-Oct-2006 07:27 pm - Michigan plans, people!
Sexy witch
Hey, everybody in Michigan!!!!

Megan will be there in Michigan on the 26th, through the 3rd!!! Oh wait, I'll be there too, but that's not as important! lol

Um, anyone wanna make some plans (hanging out, with the li'l one, lunch, whatever...)? I want everybody possible to meet her. I'm gonna call those of you whose numbers I know, and um, in fact, pass it on to people who you think might be interested in meeting Megan, and we'll find a central location (that isn't her grandparent's house) to meet and hang out and stuff. :)

Anyway, here's a tentative version of the itinerary so far:

Thrusday -being picked up and taken to dinner

Friday - pumpkin carving at Bill's sister's place (I think that's where it is)

Satruday - Family meeting Megan party, Bill's Halloween party

Sunday - recover and clean up from the party

Monday - mofo

Tuesday - various halloween celebration things

Wednesday - TEM cast with Bill and Megan and others

Thursday and Friday - dunno, not planning anything yet.

Sooooooo, if y'all wanna come over and meet da baby, or say hi, or kidnap me to take Megan and me to dinner, there's our plans for the week. Not much going on besides that, so I'm sure we'll all find time to socialize while I'm there.

Anyway, gotta go back and pack more... see y'all later!

25th-Jun-2006 04:53 pm - Chance of thunderstorm tonight?
Dancing Zim
Ooooh, weather's getting really gorgeous! There's a chance of rain and there's lots of wind and dust and the air smells like rain... *sniffs the air* Mmmmmm.. :D

I want a thunderstorm tonight, and it prolly will happen with this humidity. Then Dave and I can drive around looking at the lightning. *sniffs again* Mmmmmm... raaaaaain...

Bill's coming out in 6 days. I told Megan that daddy's gonna visit, and she looked at me and grinned. She's getting really cute... I got a cellphone that can take pictures now, so I have to get a USB cable and hook it up to the computer. Wheeeeeee...

OMG big dust storm just blew the (locked) door open!

Turning off computer now. Laters!

It was about late evening Friday/ Early Saturday that The Lovely Miss M. began crawling.

Four and a half months old, and already crawling! My goodness, she's mobile already!

This is freakin' awesome to watch. Of course I haven't gotten pics of her with her actually crawling yet, but we've got some nice scooting pics from Friday onward that are still on the camera.

I keep on being amazed at how fast she's growing and learning new things. I'm sure she'll be walking early, too.
27th-May-2006 11:38 am - Hey Daddy (and everyone else)!
